In plain English

All players tee off. The team chooses the shot it likes best. Everyone moves to that spot and hits again. Keep doing that until the ball is holed.

How to win

Finish with the lowest team score after any handicap allowance is applied.

Example

Team gross 68 - allowance 6 = Net 62
Hand-drawn equation showing team gross 68 minus allowance 6 equals Net 62.

Remember this

  • One good shot can help the whole team.
  • Teams often need to use a set number of tee shots from each player.
  • The handicap allowance is set by the event.

Things to be aware of

Scramble handicap allowances vary by team size and local rules. The committee should publish the exact calculation before play.
